The First Short Story of My Life: 'Passengers'

Have You Seen Him?

Dear My Friend,

Did you have a peaceful day? I hope you did in this calm-cloudy Sunday afternoon.

Mostly, I got used to the mediterranean (recently,in reality 'mediterrainyan') climate of Pécs, so I 'missed' the rain in Siófok at the weekend. It wasn't raining, but it was a bit cloudy, dark, and melancholic. Although, it isn't a bad thing at all.

Today, I took a walk alone in the town, and I visited Lake Balaton, as I'm used to do in every weekend. The Lake welcomed me with a powerful embrace: the wind was cold and strong. It was a bit unpleasant welcome, but friendly.

Not only was I walking there: Families, elder couples and dogs with their masters were enjoying view of the windy, cold Lake. I passed by a young woman, who was taking photos of her children, while they were feeding three beautiful, snow-white swans. The Father payed attention to the two three or four-year-old children, and the Mother took care of the little baby, who was sitting in a pram.

I watched them for some seconds. I could see my Future as I looked at them: young, happy parents with little children walking together on the coast of the Hungarian Sea... I wish I had a Future like this!

According to a 'prediction' of one of my Friends I'll get marry to my husband when I'll be 26 and I'll have three children: a boy and then twins (a girl and a boy). Amen! 8-D (Although, I used to think that I'll have a girl and a boy, but three children is also OK. ;-) As far as I'm concerned, it's absolutely accomplishable.)

On the 30th of March I'm going to be 20 years old, so there's only 5 years left to get to know my 'husband'. (I would like to meet him minimum one year before the marriage.) But it can happen, that I already know him; or we've seen each other, or even talked to each other already. He could be one of my Friends or mates as well... Who knows?

If I know him, he has to hurry a bit... Maybe, after some years he'll recognise me as his wife, start to run to me in the path of Life, and shouting: 'Endlessly, I've found you! I know I was a fool; don't go away, please! You're the One!' - or something like this. There's only 5 years left, so C'mon! 8-)

Until this special moment I'll live and enjoy my Life, and wait for him, or try to find him. We have to perform a 'Special Project' in our Life together: starting a wonderful, fantastic Family.

OK, I'm as ready as I can be, and I'm here. But where are you, My Fellow?

Have a Very Nice Day!

Crazy Little Thing Called Dance

Hello My Little Friend,

Welcome again in this cloudy, rainy Sunday afternoon. It’s 14:33 now, and I even have to switch on my lamp in order to be able to read... It’s much better if Saint Peter gives us light, not the beneficent power of electricity; but luckily, the melancholy weather doesn’t have an effect on my mood, because I’m cheerful, like most of the time. 8-)

Monday, I took my first exam in the University: It was ’Boogie Woogie, Rock & Roll, Swing’, but mostly Rock & Roll. Since I got a 5, it was one of the greatest triumphs in my life. Although, I was always considered to be ’unskilful in almost every physical activity’, this time I managed to prove, that I don’t have ’problems’ with dance at all.

Ever since I can remember, I was always interested to dance. I simply wanted to Move. This term, like ’Dance’, has much more to say than it seems at first sight. In my way of thinking, ’Dance’ is the product of the cooperation of Music and your Soul. If you listen to Music, it ’possesses’ you, and then become embodied in your organism by trying to express itself with the help of your moves. This way, Music will have a real message, so it begins to ’communicate’ with the World.

Being the ’means’ of Music is a fantastic feeling as My Rocky Teacher told me in the last lesson ’The best thing in dancing is that you can take advantage of your body.’ I’m absolutely agree with him, and I always thought the same. While dancing every part of your body moves: you can feel your heartbeat, breathing, and all of your muscles strain from your toe to your face. By jumping up or kicking, you merge with the air, the atmosphere of the hall for one second. You don’t touch the air, the air receives you. The ground lets you step, and you can feel this connection with the sensitive receptors of your sole by imressing the clump of your shoes with each and every step you take.

Dancing is like a beautiful painting, which is perfect in every particular: the space (the ground, the air) makes the background, the Music is the frame, and you’re the absolute focus of the composition. Dance is the most wonderful cooperation of Humanity and the World, isn’t it? 8-)

In the slideshow I show you some pictures of the rocky group and dance in usual.

Have a Nice Day, and a Pleasant Evening in the first Sunday of Advent!
(Christmas is near. ;-D)

Ciao!

My Favourite Moment

Hello My Dear,

I hope you had a good day. ;-)
Unfortunately, we haven’t seen each other for a long time. I had too much to do, but I never forget about You!

Today I gave a presentation and took two tests: a Midterm Test (’MT’ or ’ZH’ which you prefer… ;-) ) in the Reading & Writing lesson, and a shorter one in the linguistics lecture (the Hungarian one). This was a bit exhausting for me, so I deserved a bit relaxation.

’Relaxation’ means a lot of things for me: for instance today I just listened to Music and did nothing. For the external spectator it seemed like that I don’t do anything, but I was thinking of good things in my Life. (I like doing it, really because it makes me happy.) …and then something really good came into my mind: Christmas.

The sense of peace and happiness stole over me and several ideas flashed into my mind. Naturally, I will give presents for my loved ones for Christmas; it’s a great chance to show them my feelings. I express them every day, if there's an opportunity, but Christmas is a very special occasion from this aspect.

Sometimes Life can give us beautiful presents such as memorable Moments, deep Feelings, and all the things that can make the Sense of our Life. (Yes, it comes from Life itself.) Some days before Christmas I had a very special Moment, which I would like to share with you.

Years ago I walked alone in the streets of Siófok, in the centre of this little town. (Sometimes it’s good to be alone, observing and feeling the World around you.) We had a ’real’ winter that year with gently chilly weather, and an extraordinary smell wove in the air: the ’Christmas is near’-smell made of orange, cinnamon, freshly baked Christmas rollcake and Love. Wonderful…

In the illuminated streets I could see happy, smiling people walking together with their children, relatives, Friends and enjoying the wonderful winter holiday. I was wearing my favourite, long cloth coat with my red scarf, and feeling good, really good. I couldn’t wish for anything more. As my footprints impressed the fresh, sugar-white snow, it crunched under my feet. While I was looking at the beautifully illuminated Water Tower I felt very happy, simply Happy that I’m alive and I can Live in this homelike Moment. That was one of my favourite presents which I got from the World for Christmas.

I’ve already started to prepare for Christmas. And you? 8-)

I hope you’ll have a great evening!
Have a Fantastic Time!

Dóry, who’s looking forward to Christmas 8-)

A Special Story In The Still Of The Night

Welcome My Dearest Friend,

It’s nice to see you again! 8-) How are you?
I hope your days are as peaceful as mine during the fall holiday. It’s fantastic to be Home again, visit my Friends, spend my time with my Family and go for a walk to see…

…Lake Balaton. It’s one of the most beautiful things in the World. Really. A timeless trace of the eternal power of Peace, giving inspiration to me: that’s Lake Balaton. It’s a sort of a ’Relative’ or a ’Friend’.

Several things can inspire me (not only the Hungarian Sea). Music is one of them. Since, it makes me relaxed, and it takes my mind off my daily routine, I listen to Music quite often. I can feel alone in a crowded place as well by turning on my mp3 player and not caring about the surrounding.

I like all styles of Music, as you can read it on my profile. Sting is among my favourites, and as for me the best track from him is ’Stolen Car’. I like this song soo much because there’s a whole story within it. A young boy would like to steal a beautiful, expensive car. Getting into it, he imagines who the owner of the car can be: probably a successful, wealthy man who has a Family and a lover at the same time. It has a mysterious atmosphere, hasn’t it?

To my mind, the background Music is the ’body’ and the lyrics is the ’soul’ of every song. The ’body’, the sound of the instruments gives you impressions, makes you feel and the ’soul’ contains the real meaning, which has special message for you, and it’s your right to decide what it means.

In my opinion this track is mostly about the aspect of the lover. Being ’hidden from the light’, she always longs for him; they have to meet secretly. According to my personal opinion, this story tells us something about the unselfishness of a real lover, and this viewpoint is the most accented.

For being the first track in English which I could completely understand, this song was a ’milestone’ for me. That was the first time I could catch and understand every word, that’s why it was a special ’success’. 8-)

I hope you’ll listen to this song several times, and come to like it. It’s really worth listening to, because it’s a special story, a whole ’picture’.

See you soon and Have a Nice Day!

A Book Review . In The Middle Of The Night

Good Evening My Friend,

It's a bit late now, I know, but I would like to share with you one of my special experiences. ;-)
I really like reading and I prefer to read crime stories but not the ordinary type. My favourite are those novels which have a historical person in the leading role. The Interpretation of Murder by Jed Rubenfeld is one of my favourite books and it's a good example for this special topic.

The two protagonists of the novel are Sigmund Freud, the well known psychoanalyst and Dr. Stratham Younger (another psychoanalyst). In the course of the story we can get to know their 'colleagues' for instance Sándor Ferenczi (YES! He's a real Hungarian! 8-) ) and Carl Jung. They meet each other in New York City, and during their stay a woman is killed and another is assaulted. The survivor woman have amnesia and the psychoanalysts help her to remember her attacker.

The scenes, the surrounding, the persons are real, only the plot is fiction. There's another real fact (and that's the base of the novel): Sigmund Freud really had been to New York City and after he arrived home he had the impression that the Americans are all lunatic. But why did he think that? The novel could be an answer to this question. 8-)

If you like crime stories and protagonists who are known from history, then you must read this book! 8-)

Introduction

Hello My Friend,

I'm so happy to see you! 8-) Welcome to the Authentic English Version of Dóry’s Diary! 8-)

This is my first 'article' in this blog and I think I should begin with the introduction. Probably it sounds a bit trivial, but in my way of thinking these 'Small Things' are the most important parts of our Life. ;-)

You already know that my name is Dóry Szvath (often written in films like this: S.W.A.T.) and I'm a student in the University of Pécs. Surprisingly, I learn English. 8-)
I like to tell about myself, that I'm a lucky person. There are several reasons for my opinion:

1. First of all, I live in a very beautiful town. I'm from Siófok, located in the side of the Hungarian Sea, Lake Balaton. That's my hometown and I really enjoy its peaceful, wonderful atmosphere. 8-)
2. I have faithful, reliable Friends and a special Family who I really Love.
3. Like every human being in Earth I have hobbies making me happy everytime when I'm a bit depressed or when there's nothing else to do. I take part in two dance courses in the University and in my freetime I like going out with my Friends, reading, listening to Music, going for a walk, taking photos, thinking or doing something creative. There’s an infinite number of ideas in my head and they must be realized. ;-)
4. In the course of schoolyears, learning became my ’job’. I really got used to it and I try to do my best everytime when I have to face a new challenge. Now, I have the opportunity to learn what I’m really interested in: English, Philosophy and whatever I would like to study. My ’job’ is a kind of hobby for me – and I like it. 8-)
5. I always search for answers in Life (althought I know that the question is more important than the answer itself) and these discoveries occupy my thoughts, so I never feel bored. ;-)
6. I’m Lucky, because I can find Beauty in everything and everyone. Probably that’s why I don’t have real enemies.
7. I like living my Life. 8-) Could I wish anything more? 8-)
8. There will be always another point because Life is beautiful. 8-) So, I think it’s better to stop now. ;-)

Unfortunately, there will never be enough space in this blog for us to get to know each other. But I’ll try to share some parts of my World with you.
…and I hope, that you”ll be there sometimes. 8-)

Have a Nice Day! 8-)
